The main function of this position is to perform preventive maintenance and provide technical support or basic troubleshooting to Honeywell customers. These customers will have various products installed that fall into the - HVAC, automation controls, life safety, fire, and security systems categories as well as their associated computer systems. The goal is to ensure system up-time and efficiency. As a Sr Fire Alarm Field Service Tech for our Service team, you will be tasked with the supervision of installation of systems that will include, fire alarm, security, and access controls in a commercial, educational, construction and or retrofit environment. You will be expected to perform testing and start-up support functions across a wide range of electronic Fire Alarm / Security / Access / CCTV systems, which will include proprietary software packages. Strong computer, software and network skills, and knowledge are necessary for this position. Experience with systems that involve advanced solutions such as Honeywell Front End Computers, Honeywell XLS1000 and XLS3000, Edwards and Notifier fire alarm system and other technologies for building fire alarm security solutions would be a plus.Key Responsibilities:bull; Perform/Review installation methods, checkout, and test, startup on fire alarm system, security or access systems and adhere to plans, specification, and contract requirements.bull; Be responsible for commissioning start-up and checkout of systems using the software provided by engineering for large jobs (long cycle time) or software possibly written by themselves in small jobs (short cycle time jobs).bull; Understand and execute all company polices and procedures guidelines for software checkout. This would include checking systems, point check via software SOPs, sample checking.bull; Complete technical work underestimated hours and within allocated period. On small jobs (short cycle jobs) be responsible for complete ownership of project in field, coordinate with subcontractors/vendors as applicable and work with customers to obtain completion sign-off.bull; Be responsible for Honeywell equipment at field site, its handling if required and correct installation by subcontractors.bull; Also, be responsible for Honeywell assets such as tools, proprietary software and database at job site.bull; Ensure that configuration management policies are followed. This involves back up of all changes on an ongoing basis and final archiving of hardware and software to the Honeywell server (via ADEPT or other configuration management software).bull; Participate in Sales support activities such as surveys, application selection and possibly hardware engineering for bid jobs to support our growth initiatives.bull; Keep all documentation and paperwork up to date. Examples: Labor Expense reports, customer requests for changes, adds, training and sign-off sheets, etc. Focus especially on Change Orders if additional scope is required.bull; Train the customer as required per contract terms on operational aspects of the system. If required, conduct complete system function training, and obtain attendee sign-off list for archiving.bull; Performs or assists with engineering, planning, scheduling, and installing simple to complex systems or modifications to existing systems. May plan, schedule, and lay out complex electrical equipment installations.bull; Jobs completed at or under cost (+ or- 2), under hours for start-up.bull; Promotes builds and maintains good customer relations and assists in contract retention; informs supervisor or customer needs, requirements, systems status, and actual or potential customer problems.bull; Be a zealot for safety responsible for adhering to, completing, recording all required HSE safety documentation training in a timely manner per daily/monthly/yearly, role specific, site requirements.YOU MUST HAVEbull; In-depth knowledge of Fire alarm systems, plans, specifications, and solid understanding of contracting relationshipsbull; Fire alarm systems experience with demonstrated knowledge code requirements, testing requirements and coordinating , communicating with AHJsbull; Competent in MS Word, Excel, Project, and Outlookbull; Excellent customer service skills with experience in technical phone or onsite customer support including goodbull; interpersonal communication skills.bull; Ability to travel both locally to customer sites and overnight up to 25 as workload demandsbull; Valid drivers license and safe driving record ability to pass background checkWE VALUEbull; NICET certification level 1 or higherbull; Minimum NICET certification level 1 or higherbull; 1 years related fire alarm systems, security system and access systems experience required.bull; Technical Diploma or Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science or related field or 4 years of experience in a technical role in this industrybull; Building Networks infrastructure knowledge (wiring, CAT, Cables, Fiber optics etc.). Understanding of typical communication topologies is important a plus Knowledge of Fire alarms, smoke control and security systems a plus
