In this role you will help us make advances in aircraft component design. This role is a hardware design role and is vital to the development of our next generation of aircraft engines. This position has potential for remote work if the candidate has strong alignment with desired characteristics.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs for assigned hardware that satisfy program and internal design requirements.
  • Integrate collaboratively with diverse teams from multiple disciplinary functions such as thermal design, aero design, and systems design.
  • Communicate risks within their designs to appropriate stakeholders to help drive to collective decisions on how best to proceed as a diverse team
  • Create innovative solutions that benefit the assigned hardware and overall module to meet broad design objectives.
  • The person in this role will complete design reviews, drawing releases, quality requirements, assembly analyses, amongst other activities.
  • Suggest areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches / programs to make those advancements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8 additional years of experience in mechanical engineering design

Desired Characteristics

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design
  • Masters degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Majority of career in aerospace industry mechanical design for components such as rotors, structures, or airfoil component design.
  • Finite element modeling and iteration, preferred Ansys
  • 2D and 3D modeling of mechanical components, preferred NX/Teamcenter
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Collaborative style, valuing and enhancing diversity of teams
  • Experience in solving mechanical design problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Established self-prioritization skills

The base pay range for this position is $121,500 - $202,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan.
