StandardAero Completes 20,000th TFE731 Engine Overhaul at its New Fleetlands, U.K., Facility

StandardAero completes two major industry milestones, just in time to celebrate at the 2018 NBAA-BACE event held this year at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The company announces the completion of its 20,000th TFE731-turbofan-engine scheduled-maintenance event on October 2.

The 20,000th milestone took place at the company’s new facility, located in Fleetlands, U.K., after being selected as the location for StandardAero's Honeywell TFE731-engine EMEAI-region heavy-maintenance authorization earlier this year.

Over the four decades that StandardAero has been servicing the engines, the company has completed more scheduled maintenance events than any other independent MRO provider in the world.

In February, StandardAero announced its Honeywell agreement to be the only authorized heavy-maintenance facility, located in the EMEAI region, licensed to perform both CZIs and MPIs. Additionally, StandardAero is authorized to perform line-level maintenance on the 36-series APUs for business-aviation aircraft operators in the EMEAI region. The authorization is a long-term agreement whereby StandardAero anticipates supporting more than 1,500 MPI- and CZI-engine events over the contract life. As part of the agreement, StandardAero is standing up Europe-based mobile service teams to provide on-site service to support approximately 600 operators in the region.

“Reaching this milestone is truly historic for StandardAero but even more satisfying that it occurred at our new EMEAI facility,” says Marc Drobny, president of StandardAero Business Aviation. “I want to thank our team in the UK for making such great progress to stand up our capabilities in the region and invite all EMEAI business aviation operators to visit our shop and meet our team, in person.”

Thus far this year, StandardAero has invested more than $7 million in training, tooling, equipment, inventory and testing to bolster its Fleetlands facility. Fleetlands is now a critical part of StandardAero’s support for the global TFE731-powered fleet.
