In this hands-on role, your craftsmanship will help ensure the structural integrity and performance of cutting-edge aircraft. What You’ll Be Doing As a Structures Installation Mechanic, youll be essential in assembling and installing aircraft structures and components with precision and care. Youll interpret blueprints, ensure adherence to specs, and play a direct role in the delivery of safe and reliable aircraft. Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
- Assembling, sealing, rigging, and inspecting structural components and subassemblies
- Reading and working from engineering drawings, process specs, and quality control documents
- Performing fit/form/function tests and corrections
- Using shop math and precision measurement tools
- Handling routine machine maintenance and TPM duties
- Operating fastening and assembly equipment (conventional CNC)
- Performing pressure and vacuum testing, sealing, and door/fuel cell installation
- Training and mentoring other mechanics, supporting continuous improvement
- Documenting work and moving products through the production process
What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications:
- 2- 4 years of relevant structural installation or aviation assembly experience
- Previous hands-on experience in structural assembly or mechanical installation
- Ability to read blueprints, charts, and technical instructions
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role (lifting, standing, movement)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aviation or aerospace manufacturing
- Familiarity with sealing, fuel cell work, or door installation
- SIA (Structural Inspection Authorization) qualified
- Cross-training in inspection and other specialty skills
- CNC equipment experience (less than 3-axis)
