Job Description SummaryOwns the delivery metric for the Structures Business unit at an aviation engine component repair shop. Responsible for creating the production plan based on site KPI metrics and customer needs, then executing the production plan in accordance with the shop floor, and site cross functional support teams (engineering, quality, EHS, etc).Coordinate and expedite the flow of Structures engine components from aviation customers according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).Job DescriptionResponsibilities:

  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Execute the production plan in accordance with the shop floor and cross functional support teams to satisfy customer delivery needs.
  • Includes indirect people management and influencing, including decisions around staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Lean and continuous improvement aptitude.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of manufacturing process management experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of manufacturing process management experience).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Aviation industry experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical engineering background preferred.
  • Repair manufacturing shop experience desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute production delivery efforts for the business unit in accordance with the shop floor and cross functional teams. 
  • Leadership Program Graduate (OMLP/EEDP/ITLP) desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve performance of team execution.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with site cross functional support teams, shop floor workforce, management, and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Aptitude for lean and continuous improvement concepts
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Ability to use data to make best decisions with turnaround time (TAT) in mind.
