Come join us as we look for structure technicians for our partner who is a leader in private aerospace. You will be precision drilling and doing structural work on 1st and 2nd stage boosters to start. Projects in lunar permanence and exploration.
Prescreen questions for hiring manager:

  • What RMP drill motor would you use to drill in a Titanium .250 stack-up?
  • What color is #30 , #21 #10 Cleco?
  • Have you ever used a Bomb-Sight kit or Toolset to pull a mis-drilled fastener hole?

C Shift: Friday - Sunday 6 am - 6:30 pm
$38.85/hr, 1.5x OT. Per Diem Split if applicable.
Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Second Stage structure.
  • Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.
  • Assist with the transition from development to production, including the first articles.
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required.
  • Set up and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
  • Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

Requirements: 
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing aerospace structures (Sheetmetal)
  • Experience in Drilling Aluminum, Composite Titanium structures
  • Experience in at least one of the following is required: Heavy (Primary Structures drilling experience) (Secondary Structures drilling experience)
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, and specifications, and understand written work instructions and test procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.
  • Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.
  • Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts.
  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting items up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field or (Airframe License).
  • Proven success as a ldquo;hands-onrdquo; technical leader
  • Work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
  • Continuous improvement attitude. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving.
  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it.
  • Experience in handling large aerospace structures.
  • Experience in assembling large tight tolerance structures.
  • Experience in new product introduction.
  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.
  • Military experience
