CAE Inaugurates Central European Flagship Business-Aviation Training Center in Vienna

Global aviation training leader CAE officially inaugurates its first business-aviation training center in Central Europe, CAE Vienna. The new center has been in operation since April and is now offering customers pilot training on four aircraft types: Gulfstream G550, Bombardier Global 7500 and Bombardier Global 6000. An Embraer Phenom 100/300 full-flight simulator (FFS), part of the Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) joint venture, is also in operation. A fifth simulator, a Bombardier Challenger 3500 FFS, will be ready for training in October, and the sixth, a Pilatus PC-24 FFS, will be deployed in the second half of 2026.

An estimated 1.5 million civil-aviation professionals will be needed worldwide by 2034, according to CAE’s biennial Aviation Talent Forecast, released at the Paris International Air Show. The comprehensive 2025 edition of the forecast analyzes the need for pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, cabin crew, and, for the first time, air traffic controllers, predicting that 71,000 controllers will be needed globally over the next 10 years.

CAE inaugurates its first Gulfstream-dedicated business-aviation training center, which will be a key component to training more pilots and maintenance technicians over the coming decades. The maintenance training program, which will include state-of-the-art virtual reality, will be offered on Gulfstream G280, G650 and G500/G600 business jets. The Savannah facility is CAE’s fifth business-aviation training center in the United States.

Global aviation training provider, CAE, confirms at EBACE 2024 that its new Vienna training center will be home to up to nine full-flight simulators (FFS), including the newly announced Embraer Phenom and Bombardier Challenger 3500 aircraft. This is in addition to the Bombardier Global 6000 Vision and 7500 announced last year. CAE will also be offering maintenance training in Vienna, Austria. The new center is scheduled to open in Q2 2025.

CAE announces at the Dubai International Airshow that it has signed a multi-year contract to provide its advanced crew management and operations control solutions to the Air India Group airlines. As part of this wide-ranging agreement, in addition to the continued use of CAE’s flight planning solutions at Air India, CAE’s operations control and crew management solutions will be integrated at all Air India Group airlines, part of Tata Group, India's largest conglomerate, which reacquired Air India in 2022.
