Embraer and Collins Aerospace collaborate on the development and testing of an innovative carbon nanotube electrothermal heating technology (CNT) for ice-protection systems, seeking to create more efficient and sustainable aircraft. The project recently achieved a major milestone by initiating a flight-test campaign at Embraer’s Gavião Peixoto unit in Brazil.

Iridium Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: IRDM) partner, Collins Aerospace, makes substantial progress during two years developing its new active low-gain (ALGA) and high-gain antennas (HGA) for Iridium Certus and successfully transmits the highest data rates possible to the Iridium® constellation using its bi-directional antennas, making Collins Aerospace the first aviation value-added manufacturer (VAM) to receive a developmental over-the-air Iridium Certus license.

AAR (NYSE: AIR), a provider of aviation services to commercial and government operators, MROs and OEMs, signs an exclusive distribution agreement with Collins Aerospace’s Goodrich de-icing and specialty heating-systems business. Through this agreement, AAR will globally provide airlines, aircraft operators, and MROs with de-icers and supporting products.

Satair, an Airbus Services company in the commercial aerospace aftermarket, and Collins Aerospace sign a long-term agreement for the distribution of Collins’ engine mounts, including detail parts and sub-assemblies for the CFM LEAP series on the Airbus A320neo aircraft family. Satair will provide distribution to its worldwide network of airline customers, repair organizations, and aftermarket spare-parts providers.

West Star Aviation announces its partnership with Collins Aerospace in completing a CJ 1+ STC for a Pro Line Fusion® upgrade including all of the Fusion optional items. The partnership now enables Collins Fusion as an upgrade option for CJ 1+, 2+ and 3 aircraft. The Fusion upgrade and first certification on this Citation model was completed on an aircraft owned by Astronaut Hall of Fame member, Charlie Precourt.
