Skandia, Inc. celebrates four decades of running the company's flammability lab, opened in 1983 and now known across the globe for its thoroughness and customer satisfaction in flammability testing, including OSU, smoke and toxicity testing services. In line with its mission statement of making aircraft quieter, safer and more comfortable, the creation of the department within Skandia was to help aircraft manufacturers, interior shops and completion centers conform to newly required flammability standards.

Duncan Aviation Expands Burn Testing Lab

Construction on the new Flammability Lab at the Duncan Aviation full-service facility in Battle Creek, MI, is to be completed next week. Duncan Aviation’s Engineering & Certification Services is not only expanding the size of its burn lab, it is also expanding its testing capabilities to include the NexGen or Sonic Burner test, also known as the FAR 25.853 (b) Fire-Blocking test.
