Hartzell Propeller

Tailwind Technologies, Inc., an integral part of investment holdings by brothers James W. Brown III and Joseph W. Brown, forms Hartzell Aviation, a newly named company with historic roots. The announcement was made at the 2022 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh annual airshow.

Hartzell Propeller receives a supplemental type certificate (STC) from the FAA to replace Diamond DA40 NG MT wood/composite propellers with new higher-performance, 3-bladed, lightweight Polaris composite props. The 74-inch-diameter three-blade ASCII carbon-fiber prop for the Austro Engine E4-A features a lightweight Bantam aluminum hub and 2,4000-hour/six-year TBO, with Hartzell's warranty through first overhaul.

Hartzell Propeller appoints Arrow Aviation Pvt. Ltd. as a service and support center in India. Arrow Aviation’s propeller-overhaul workshop and its head office are located in Kolkata, with additional locations in Delhi, Mumbai and the UAE. Arrow Aviation provides product support services for airframes, tooling, avionics and instruments, brakes and wheels, consumables and lubricants, ground-support equipment, landing gears, rotables, tires and windows.

Hartzell Propeller purchases the assets of Tanis Aircraft Products, a manufacturer of engine preheat systems for fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, with facilities in Minnesota. The Tanis brand will become part of Hartzell Propeller’s heated products, which now includes systems for propeller de-ice, piston-engine preheat, turbine-engine preheat, helicopter preheat, battery, avionics and cabin preheat.

Texas Turbine Conversions, working with Hartzell Propeller, receives FAA approval to allow Supervan conversion customers to choose either structural composite props or more economical aluminum props as part of its conversion package.says

Hartzell Propeller reaches an agreement with the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) to offer a special $1,000 discount on all new Hartzell backcountry propellers sold to RAF members. The RAF is a national organization headquartered in Bozeman, MT, which is dedicated to preserving, improving and creating airstrips for recreational access.

Hartzell’s new Navigator, a three-blade advanced structural composite scimitar propeller, is now approved for thousands of Beechcraft Bonanza single-engine airplanes. The propeller is available as part of Hartzell Propeller’s Top Prop™ program.
