Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) announces the first Trent XWB-84 engine scheduled for MRO will be inducted this week at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance’s (AFI KLM E&M) center. The facility is based at Charles De Gaulle Airport, Paris, France.

Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) announces the arrival of the first Trent 1000 engine scheduled for maintenance, repair and overall (MRO) at its facility in Dahlewitz, Germany. This important milestone follows the pledge to invest £55 million in assembly, test and shop-visit capacity in the UK and Germany, creating around 300 jobs. The commitment, made in March, addresses growing long-term demand for new civil large engines and improves customer aftermarket support services for the global fleet of Rolls-Royce Trent engines.

Results from the world's first in-flight study of the impact of using 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on both engines of a commercial aircraft show a reduction in soot particles and formation of contrail ice crystals compared to using conventional Jet A-1 fuel.

Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) announces its new small gas turbine that has been specifically developed to power hybrid-electric flight is set to begin testing. The engine is part of a turbogenerator system that is being developed for the advanced air-mobility market. This includes electrical vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for urban air mobility and commuter aircraft applications up to 19 seats.

Gulfstream Makes Industry-First Flight Using 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announces it is the business-jet industry’s first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to fly on 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The flight took place on a Gulfstream G650 from Gulfstream’s worldwide headquarters in Savannah and was flown in partnership with engine supplier Rolls-Royce on the G650 BR725 engine.

Cadorath, headquartered in Winnipeg, Canada, announces the completion of a new repair design in partnership with Roll-Royce. The new repair will fabricate and replace the air tube flanges on the Series IV outer combustion case (OCC). Cadorath currently offers complete overhaul on this component. It is also repairing the fuel nozzle boss and replacing the wire mesh patches with the dual patch.

Shell and Rolls-Royce sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aiming to support the decarbonization of the aviation industry and its progress towards net-zero emissions. The long-term agreement builds on more than a century of cooperation between the two companies and embodies a shared perspective that collaboration across the aviation value chain is necessary for the decarbonization of the sector.
