WestJet and Lufthansa Technik announce that they have signed an exclusive agreement in which Lufthansa Technik will provide engine maintenance services for the CFM International* LEAP-1B engines that power the airline's Boeing 737 fleet. The 15-year, multi-billion-dollar contract is the largest in WestJet's 30-year history and followed a rigorous competitive global sourcing process.

Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) and CFM International sign an agreement to purchase up to 10 spare CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. The engines will support AFI KLM E&M’s extensive portfolio of LEAP Premier MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) services for airline customers worldwide, to keep aircraft flying while AFI KLM E&M services operators’ primary engines.

StandardAero inducts its first customer CFM LEAP engine, marking a major milestone in the company’s introduction of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B at its facility in San Antonio, TX.

As the first independent MRO provider worldwide to sign a CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) for both the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, Lufthansa Technik is now preparing to induct its first LEAP-1B engine in November this year. LEAP engines are a product of CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines.

StandardAero signs a long-term CFM-branded service agreement (CBSA) to support the CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. Under the terms of the CBSA, StandardAero becomes part of CFM’s authorized maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network for the latest generation LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, providing a full range of MRO services to operators worldwide.
