Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings Receives Additional AMS Qualifications for Complete Line of Chrome-free Commercial Aircraft Coatings Systems

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings, available for all types of general, military/defense, and commercial aircraft, receive four AMS (Aerospace Material Specification) 3095B qualifications for the complete line of chrome-free systems for aircraft exterior coatings. These latest qualifications demonstrate that these coatings systems, and all their component products, meet the demanding industry standards for performance, durability and safety.

MTJ Aviation, a private charter aviation company started by 2017 NASCAR champion, Martin Truex Jr., boasts a fleet that looks sharp and professional as it transports lifesaving organs and surgical teams to multiple transplant centers nationwide.

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings introduces the new Jet Prep™ Pretreatment (CM0220P01), a chrome-free, water-based, translucent, sol-gel metal pretreatment solution designed specifically for the aerospace industry. The two-component pretreatment kit provides superior adhesion and corrosion protection over aluminum substrates and pairs with aerospace-grade corrosion-protective epoxy primers and topcoat paint systems.

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings launches Fill Bond Flex Aerospace Filler (FBF100) as a new, convenient method for filling seams, rivets and small spot repair areas on aircraft prior to painting. The high-quality, two-component polyester filler kit is designed to block and permanently conceal surface imperfections on composite exterior aircraft surfaces. The lightweight filler provides performance, versatility and productivity by offering strong adhesion, resistance of shrinkage, sandability, flexibility, and stain resistance, making it ideal for creating smooth surfaces for topcoat applications.

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings adds a new aerospace conductive coating (CM0485115) to its line of undercoats, enabling aircraft owners to impart conductivity onto aluminum and composite substrates. The coating offers high conductivity to non-conductive substrates by producing an anti-static conductive film on their surfaces with a resistivity of 0.1 to 100,000 ohms per square meter to help static charges dissipate from antennas and radomes. The coating is designed with excellent adhesion and offers excellent fluid resistance.
