POSITION SUMMARY
PATES Turbine Engine Technician will maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft engines, modules, components, and accessories to assure compliance with established company standards, contractual obligations, and airworthiness regulatory requirements. Performs technical troubleshooting using mechanical ability and extensive product knowledge. Cross-train in other complementary skills as needed to support production requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform disassembly and assembly of jet engines, modules, submodules, components, and assemblies in accordance with all regulatory, original manufacturer, customer, and company requirements using hand tools, power tools, or specified equipment.
  • Interpret technical specifications, directives, and relevant publications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies.
  • Interpret technical standards, drawings, specifications, and other relevant documentation using mechanical precision measuring tools and instruments as required; verify the conformance of parts to manuals and blueprints with respect to measurements.
  • Troubleshoot to identify problems, and adjust and repair products according to specifications and established procedures.
  • Use machines, tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, shop equipment, and consumables necessary to carry out the required tasks.
  • Check for serviceability, conformity documentation completeness, and compatibility with applicable standards.
  • Replace defective parts and reassemble units ensuring conformance with applicable regulations and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of maintenance repair processes.
  • Cross-train in other complementary skills and seek endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
  • Participate in cross-training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS

  • A P license holder desired. Powerplant license required or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with CFM56 and/or CF6 Jet Engines; including but not limited to disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing.
  • MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Shop experience is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics, graphs, blueprints, and other technical information.
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy, and precision.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.
  • Ability to follow and understand related company instructions, company processes, overhaul manuals, and original equipment manufacturer's manuals.
  • Ability to work the day shift or second shift, as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average workday.
