West Star Aviation Announces Jim Ellis as New Avionics Technical Sales Manager (ALN)

West Star Aviation welcomes Jim Ellis as the new avionics technical sales manager at its East Alton, IL (ALN), facility. Ellis will work directly with the avionics sales and technical teams to provide support to current and new customers.

Ellis has more than 26 years of avionics experience, formally working as avionics senior crew chief and serving Air Force and Illinois National Guard. He has an associate degree in electronic technology, has earned his aircraft electronics technician (AET) certification, an FCC license, and SD AeroIT certification, and is a Dassault Engineering Services fly-by-wire software load and certified inspector. 

“Jim brings a vast knowledge of avionics installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance to this position,” says Marty Rhine, vice president of Sales (ALN). “He has a clear understanding of airframe and related system maintenance requirements. It is not often that we are fortunate enough to bring on someone with this much technical experience and familiarity with our services.”
