West Star Aviation Receives FAA Approval on Lear 60 FANS STC
West Star Aviation announces FAA approval of its Lear 60 Future Air Navigation Systems (FANS) STC. West Star teams with Universal Avionics and TrueNorth Avionics to offer this new FANS solution for the Lear 60.
The package consists of a Universal Avionics UniLink® UL-801 Communications Management Unit (CMU), a cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and TrueNorth's FAA TSO-C195a-certified data link unit, granting Lear 60 operators access to North Atlantic Tracks for more efficient routing to Europe. West Star Aviation holds an STC to install Universal Avionics' SBAS-Flight Management Systems (FMS) for LPV operation and will be able to provide a solution for ADS-B compliance.

The downtime for this installation will vary, depending upon the work scope (i.e. if LPV has been previously accomplished, downtime is reduced.) The avionics modifications can be done in conjunction with other repair services to reduce overall in-shop time.
