Job PurposeThe Aircraft Structural Installer (under moderate supervision) performs specialized operations and a variety of general mechanical operations on aircrafts (e.g. disassembly, modification, and assembly of airframe components). Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remove, repair, fabricate, replace, modify and install aircraft parts and structural components
  • Plan, lay-out, cut, bend, form, shape, fit, drill, ream, install fastener, assemble and install sheet metal parts and airframe structural members
  • Work with close tolerance dimensions and various types of fasteners using common hand tools, special instruments and pneumatic tools
  • Perform structural modification and repair using engineering drawings, safety procedures, military specification, standards and maintenance manuals in performance of assigned tasks
  • Document work performed on aircraft forms, records and workbooks
  • Perform structural modifications on various aircraft
  • Be proficient in reading data design drawings
  • Be knowledgeable in use of all installation tooling and equipment
  • Provide own hand tools
  • Use computer-based programs to clock in and out and to perform other self-serve duties
  • Frequently lift equipment and material weighing up to 50 pounds; infrequently, heavier
  • Pay close attention to detail in frequently reviewing and completing forms and checklists
  • Frequently quickly relocate between adjoining work locations
  • Work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment
  • Adhere to all Southeast Aerospace company policies, safety guidelines, and code of ethical conduct
  • In adhering to company polices, all employees are subject to random drug and alcohol tests
  • This position is also subject to random drug and alcohol testing under DOT and FAA regulations
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Any and all other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements: 
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of experience performing structural modifications on aircraft
  • A P license preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Must be goal oriented and able to complete assignments within company standards
  • The ability to work efficiently with other employees as part of a team or individually
  • Acceptable background check for required matters
  • US Citizen as defined in FAR 22CFR 120.15 for required matters.

Working Conditions

  • Normal work day is 8 hours Monday thru Friday
  • Overtime hours required.
  • Travel to other locations on occasion to perform structural modifications
  • Most often the working conditions of the Aircraft Production Manager will be in the Southeast Aerospace facility hangars.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform work in a sometimes noisy environment.
  • Bending, squatting, sitting, working from ladders, lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
