What the position is:As an Aircraft System Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that timely maintenance actions are performed on our aircraft by developing Technical Services documents and using approved or accepted data for the assigned ATA chapters. You will also be responsible for coordinating documentation for all repairs and alterations, as well as providing engineering support data as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for analyzing and generating technical documents specifying the requirements for the accomplishment of Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and mandatory Service Bulletins for the assigned ATA chapters. Finally, you will be responsible for performing technical analysis and developing all maintenance program components for our company fleet for the assigned ATA chapters.Essential functions:

  • Take the lead on significant out of service events to provide technical assistance that is necessary to maintenance vendors and CommuteAir maintenance personnel, provide on-site station support pertaining to chronic issues or major events and interact regularly with all maintenance and inspection work groups for the ATA chapters assigned.
  • Assist the Director and Manager of Technical Services as the technical liaison interacting with Original Equipment Manufacturers, Engineering Groups, Maintenance Providers, Vendors and other relevant external entities for the ATA chapters assigned.
  • Assist in the development and revision of maintenance task cards based upon manufacturer changes, company policy changes, and/or maintenance personnel submissions and shall present approved changes to the Maintenance Technical Publications Department using company procedures and processes.
  • Responsible for implementing fleet reliability improvements for the ATA chapters assigned.
  • Identify and track all repeat discrepancies for CommuteAir fleet and make recommendations for corrective actions/troubleshooting for the ATA chapters assigned.
  • Work with the Training Department to help develop and teach troubleshooting training for repeat discrepancy events in an effort to decrease out of service times for the ATA chapters assigned.
  • Report anomalous discrepancies to the Chief Inspector or his designee.
  • Assist with maintaining fleet Modification status.
  • Assist with maintaining fleet Service Bulletin status (SB).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Technical Services or above.

General requirements qualifications:

  • Experience in aircraft maintenance and systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation software
  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field (preferred)
