Sheet Metal Subassembler I - Cherokee Fuselage - 2nd Shift (Full Time)Department: All OpeningsAssists the Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft parts assemblies following Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions. Assists in meeting or exceeding planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals.Essential Job Functions: Performs or assists the Supervisor in the following tasks: Building aircraft subassemblies using different types of fasteners, drills, squeezes, rivet guns, bucking bars, countersinking, dimpling, etc. Inspect and buying off own work using Piper inspection certifications. Maintain compliance with Piper Quality Manual (QM) and FAA requirements. Rework all assembly discrepancies as necessary. Comply with all Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned program requirements. Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity. Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.Career Path Minimum Position QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Related sheet metal assembly experience requirements:o Sheet Metal Subassembler I: 2 years of experience preferredo Sheet Metal Subassembler II: 2 5 years of experience preferredo Senior Sheet Metal Subassembler: 5 years of experience; or ** Demonstrated verifiable competency through assignment of tasks and duties directly relatedto the position, confirming knowledge skills and abilities in lieu of experience. Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime Ability to work with minimal supervision Use of hand and power tools as required Follow all safety procedures Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal). Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructionsPhysical Demands Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate job specific equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Other physical requirements include the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance and reach above, out, and below.Mental Demands Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
