Clay Lacy Completes 10th Garmin G1000 NXi Upgrade on Embraer Phenom

Clay Lacy Aviation completes its tenth installation of the Garmin G1000® NXi avionics suite at its FAA Part 145 Repair Station at Van Nuys Airport (KVNY), where Clay Lacy is an authorized Garmin dealer and has operated an Embraer Authorized Service Center since 2009. The company provides comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul services, including full-suite avionics installations, system upgrades and modifications.

“This milestone demonstrates the range of our continuously expanding capabilities in supporting Embraer owners and operators,” says Eddy Diaz, Avionics manager at Clay Lacy. “The G1000 NXi configuration is the result of Garmin continuously upgrading its systems with an even more user-friendly and intuitive interface improving situational awareness and capabilities."

“The G1000 NXi flight deck offers a host of leading-edge capabilities to help pilots fly safer and reach their destinations easier,” says Dan Lind, senior director of Aviation Sales and Marketing for Garmin. “From enhanced guidance in visual flight conditions to SurfaceWatch™ runway monitoring technology, the G1000 NXi is a comprehensive upgrade for any operator. We’re proud to work with MROs like Clay Lacy to bring the industry’s most trusted avionics to pilots and aircraft owners who will undoubtedly benefit from the faster and more modernized feature set found in the G1000 NXi system.”

The tenth installation took place on an Embraer Phenom 100, but the Embraer-authorized facilities at Van Nuys and McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad/San Diego (KCRQ) offer MRO and upgrade services for the full range of business jets, including the Embraer Legacy, Praetor and Phenom lines. Clay Lacy offers Embraer operators services including airframe inspections, AOG support, parts sales, rotable service, avionics installation and repairs, and interior refurbishment and upgrades, all provided by a team of factory-trained Embraer experts, including A&P technicians, IA-qualified inspectors, and an onsite FAA-designated airworthiness representative.

Garmin has been instrumental in changing how business aircraft are flown, recently delivering its 25,000th integrated flight deck since launching the G1000 avionics suite in 2003. Clay Lacy also offers the G1000 NXi upgrade to Beechcraft King Air operators.
