Loar Group Closes on Acquisition of Desser’s Proprietary Solutions
Loar Group Inc. (“Loar”) announces that it has recently closed the acquisition of Desser Aerospace’s Proprietary Solutions segment from VSE Corporation (NASDAQ:VSEC; ”VSE”). The Proprietary Solutions segment will operate as DAC Engineered Products, LLC, (“DAC”) going forward.
With manufacturing operations in Osewego, IL, DAC’s suite of products include, but is not limited to, carbon brakes, steel brakes, starter generators, and vacuum generators primarily for general-aviation and regional jets. With a strong background in engineering and design, the team at DAC is recognized for its ability to meet and exceed customers’ needs in demanding certification environments through parts manufacturing approvals or utilizing FAA-licensed designated engineering representatives to provide custom repairs.
Dirkson Charles, CEO of Loar Group, says, “DAC fits well with our strategy of adding niche capabilities and proprietary products to our portfolio while continuing to add to Loar’s overall diversity of product applications across a broad variety of aircraft platforms. As an organization we deliver greater than 50% of our sales in the aftermarket. DAC’s sales are 100% derived from the aftermarket, which will further strengthen this attribute and strategic focus of Loar.”
“We are excited to join Loar’s family of companies,” says Jeff Johnson, president of DAC. “This union will allow DAC to leverage Loar’s existing capabilities to accelerate our above-market growth rate.”
Loar Group Inc.’s mandate is to create a strategic global alliance of companies specializing in the design and manufacture of aerospace and defense components. Loar provides its partners and customers with innovative, cost-effective engineering and manufacturing capabilities and responsive, dependable service, leading to profitable and sustainable long-term relationships.
