Teledyne Technologies Incorporated and AVIC International Holding Corporation (“AVIC International”) announce an agreement to sell Teledyne’s general aviation piston engine business to Technify Motor (USA) LTD., a subsidiary of AVIC International, for $186 million in cash. Under the transaction, AVIC International will acquire Teledyne Continental Motors, Inc. (“Continental Motors”) and Teledyne Mattituck Services, Inc.

Lycoming Engines, a division of Avco Corporation, has added Air Power Inc., located at Arlington, Texas, Municipal Airport in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, to its worldwide distributor network. Founded in 1992, Air Power is an industry leader in the sale of factory engines and parts for general aviation, with more than 27,000 factory engines sold worldwide.

Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) announces the signing of a letter of intent (LOI) with Alpha Star Aviation Services to engage in discussions to form a joint venture dedicated to providing comprehensive military and commercial aviation support and maintenance services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Alpha Star Aviation Services is an aerospace services provider based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Sikorsky Aerospace Services is the aftermarket division of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

The manual contains information designed not only to teach how to properly operate and maintain aircraft tires but also to demonstrate why these techniques and procedures are necessary. The Manual is a great supplement to the specific instructions issued by the aircraft and wheel/rim manufacturers.

Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support announces it is augmenting its existing service and support resources with the addition of new dedicated air and ground mobile support vehicles. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has released its annual forecast predicting that air travel will more than double in the next 20 years. It says the report underscores the need to keep the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) on track to accommodate future growth. “We need to invest in aviation today to make sure America’s economy remains competitive,” says U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood. “Innovative NextGen technology will help meet the demands of the future by getting passengers to their destinations safely and more quickly.”
