We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aircraft Electrician (AT equivalent) specializing in MH-60R MH-60S Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI) / O-Level Maintenance Squadron Support located at Rota Spain.
The Aircraft Electrician (AT equivalent) performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft electrical systems, components, and wiring harnesses. This role requires proficiency in electrical schematics, technical manuals, and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure aircraft operational readiness.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft electrical systems, including wiring, connectors, lighting, and avionics interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using test equipment, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Fabricate and install wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and connectors according to specifications.
  • Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, and functional tests to ensure proper system operation.
  • Remove and replace defective electrical components and assemblies.
  • Document all maintenance, inspection, and repair actions in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior personnel as needed.
  • May include collateral duties as defined on COMNAVAIRFOR 4790.2 series Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
Requirements: 

Minimum of 8 yearsrsquo; current or previous experience perform complex helicopter electronic work to include but not limited to:

  • Installation, testing, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, alignment, modification, performing final test calibrations, analyzing and pinpointing maintenance problems in highly complex navigation, detection, identification, and radar electronic devices, navigational radar, electronic countermeasure systems, global positioning system (GPS), and armament systems.
  • FAA Airframe Powerplant (A P) Certificate or military equivalent (AT rating) qualification.
  • Must be able to solve complicated problems encountered by pilots while in flight.
  • A thorough understanding of flight characteristics and their effect on electronic systems so that trouble can be identified and corrected is mandatory.
  • Systems worked include, various types such as search and navigational radar, communication, navigation, electronic countermeasures, data computing, recording equipment, weapons computer and inertial measurement systems
  • Usage of test equipment such as voltmeters, signal generators, sweep and pulse generators, dual trace oscilloscopes, deviation meters, sweep carts, precision power and frequency measuring devices. Also, must have experience using various special test sets that detect troubles that often do not appear during bench rework in shop.
  • Ability to repair, align, and adjust major integrated electronic systems.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of electronic theory and be able to apply it to a wide variety of highly complex integrated electronic systems and devices.
  • Worked with miniaturized solid-state circuits and devices.
  • Able to use a full range of hand tools common to the trade.
  • Thorough knowledge of digital and analog computers.
  • Knowledge of algebra and trigonometry.
  • Able to follow drawings for integrated electronic systems and identify effects a change in one system will have on other systems and determine parts to be replaced or adjusted.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of MH-60R/S systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of NAMP (COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2) and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Pass a background check
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card or ROTA Base Access ID.
  • Active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one if required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.
  • Ability to climb and stand on ladders when necessary.
  • Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
  • Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions.
  • Position may require use and/or exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
  • Position is located near or in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment.
  • FIT for Duty Physical is required.
  • May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.
