Duncan Aviation loses a longtime team member and an aviation expert who was well-known in the industry. Karl Detweiler, Duncan Aviation’s manager of Accessories Marketing and Business Development, worked at Duncan Aviation for nearly 22 years where he provided marketing expertise, business development, technical support and the development of FAA-approved repairs for aircraft component repair and overhaul. He passed on the afternoon of May 18 after a year-long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

In a first-ever opportunity for students at Cape Cod Community College, on-site housing at Bridgewater State University is made available to students in CCCC’s Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program. Students entering the program this fall will have the option to stay in an on-campus co-educational dorm and purchase an on-site meal plan if they wish.
Satair Makes Strategic Investment to Boost UK Operations
Satair’s UK operation opens of a brand new facility close to London’s Heathrow Airport, benefitting from a multi-million pound investment program. The new facility, at Space Waye, North Feltham Trading Estate, became fully operational on March 19 and has six times the area and 11 times the cubic capacity of the previous Heston, Middlesex, facility which Satair occupied for almost 30 years.

RUAG Aviation completes an 8C check on a Bombardier Global Express XRS to full customer satisfaction. The downtime for the heavy maintenance inspection was optimized and included an upgrade to Satcom and WiFi communication technology. The project was completed at the aircraft services provider’s facilities at Munich-Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. RUAG Aviation is a Bombardier Authorized Service Center.
