Garmin announces it has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval of the G5000 integrated flight deck for the Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP aircraft. The G5000 modernizes the cockpit, increases aircraft utility, offers significant weight savings and provides operators with a solution to fulfill global next generation airspace initiatives. Garmin also announces that SUN-AIR airlines of Scandinavia has selected the G5000 integrated flight deck upgrade for its Beechjet 400A aircraft. SUN-AIR Technic, the maintenance division of SUN-AIR, is also an authorized Garmin dealer and will be completing the first installation of the Beechjet G5000 upgrade in Europe.

Duncan Aviation loses a longtime team member and an aviation expert who was well-known in the industry. Karl Detweiler, Duncan Aviation’s manager of Accessories Marketing and Business Development, worked at Duncan Aviation for nearly 22 years where he provided marketing expertise, business development, technical support and the development of FAA-approved repairs for aircraft component repair and overhaul. He passed on the afternoon of May 18 after a year-long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
