Duncan Aviation announces that Paul Lewandowski has joined Duncan Aviation’s Government Programs as a program manager. In this role, Lewandowski will be responsible for expanding the company's business within the government, military, and special projects sectors while continuing to deliver outstanding customer service. He will focus on both maintaining existing contracts and pursuing new opportunities.

AEA Educational Foundation Announces Scholarship Winners

The Aircraft Electronics Association's Educational Foundation announces the names of 26 individuals who were awarded scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year. The AEA Educational Foundation annually awards scholarships to students pursuing a career in avionics or aircraft maintenance, as well as students from AEA member companies.

CAE Inaugurates Savannah, GA, Training Center for Gulfstream Pilots and Maintenance Technicians

CAE inaugurates its first Gulfstream-dedicated business-aviation training center, which will be a key component to training more pilots and maintenance technicians over the coming decades. The maintenance training program, which will include state-of-the-art virtual reality, will be offered on Gulfstream G280, G650 and G500/G600 business jets. The Savannah facility is CAE’s fifth business-aviation training center in the United States.

Hartzell Propeller Service Center Launches Propeller Core Purchase Program

The Hartzell Service Center in Piqua, OH, is introducing a purchasing program for used, serviceable propeller cores and serialized parts directly from aircraft owners, fleets and MROs. The enhancement aims to help reduce overhaul lead times while giving customers more buying options when acquiring parts.

Results from the world's first in-flight study of the impact of using 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on both engines of a commercial aircraft show a reduction in soot particles and formation of contrail ice crystals compared to using conventional Jet A-1 fuel. 

StandardAero has appointed Kim Ernzen to serve as chief operating officer.  In this role, she reports directly to Russell Ford, StandardAero chairman and CEO and is responsible for global operational performance, efficiency and excellence, as well as engineering and supply chain management for StandardAero. In addition, StandardAero’s Engine Services and Component Repair Services division presidents will report directly to Ernzen, who will maintain close oversight of the company’s overall business performance.  She replaces Kerry O’Sullivan, who is retiring from StandardAero, and will be located at the company’s Scottsdale, AZ headquarters office.  

It is with deepest sorrow that Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics announces the passing of its former president and CEO, John W. Winter, on May 27, 2024, in Wichita, KS. Winter was a well-known and beloved member of the aviation community whose ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit helped shape the industry.
