Look at the first part of each of those lines.

Disciplining is part of a DOM’s job. Discipline is effective when its application eliminates the need for it in the future. Effective discipline gets results. But we should never apply discipline without also giving an explanation and providing instruction or correct behavior.

As usual the Administrator is trying to “cut his own throat,” and ours with it. Having just read with great interest the comments by Gary Frederickson and Tim Begeot in the “Readers Speak” section of the April issue of D.O.M.

I read your column in the Jan/Feb issue of D.O.M. and would like to add a thought or two.
