Biotek Shield Neutralizes Airborne COVID-19 Virus, Maintaining Virus-Free Cabin Air on Commercial Aircraft

PWI develops a virus-neutralizing system for use in fighting airborne contaminants aboard commercial aircraft. The device, called Biotek Shield, is designed to be installed in the air-conditioning system of the aircraft and uses UVC (ultraviolet) light technology to neutralize pathogens like bacteria and viruses, including H1N1, SARS, West Nile, tuberculosis and coronavirus.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announces it has received approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration for installation of a high-speed, dual internet system on Gulfstream G650 and Gulfstream G650ER aircraft. Provided by Viasat, the system gives customers access to internet speeds that are some of the fastest in the industry. A streaming video service is also available, allowing customers to stream their favorite high-definition content without compromising connectivity.

The new 32" Three-Drawer Roll Cart from Snap-on Industrial comes with ample room to house tools of all sizes while easily moving them throughout the shop or hangar. The 32" Three-Drawer Roll Cart (part number KRSC323), comes with 2" and 4" deep drawers, and a third, extra-deep 6" drawer that’s ideal for power tools, diagnostics and other bulkier tools. Flip the lid open on top of the box to find a 7" deep compartment with vertical pry bar storage. 

In 2019, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) revised “NFPA 652, Standard on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust.” One of the most important updates is the Sept. 7, 2020, deadline for industrial manufacturers to complete a dust hazard analysis (DHA), which is necessary to be compliant with OSHA’s National Emphasis Program (Directive Number: CPL 03-00-008).

Textron Aviation announces it has been awarded a contract by ATI Engineering Services, LLC for two multi-mission Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft for the Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) in support of the African Partnership Flight initiative. This will be the first fixed-wing aircraft to be put in service by the RDF. The aircraft, which are anticipated to enter service during the first half of 2021, will primarily be based in Kigali, Rwanda.

Duncan Aviation continues to take a proactive approach to finding ways to resolve the critical shortage of skilled technicians that’s expected in the industry in the next few years by announcing that the U.S. Department of Labor has endorsed the company's new Powerplant Apprenticeship program. Eight full-time technicians will begin their 24-month apprenticeships this month.
