Business-aircraft maintenance specialists have a new reason to look forward to the inaugural “Maintenance Track” as a part of the education program at the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), as they will be eligible to receive inspection authorization (IA) renewal credit by participating in the program.

StandardAero announces it has received FAA approval for acceptance testing of the Rolls-Royce RB211-535 turbofan engine at its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in San Antonio, Texas.  This achievement, which followed a test cell correlation effort undertaken in partnership with the engine manufacturer, marks StandardAero’s attainment of full capability on the RB211-535, in support of the life-of-type maintenance services partnership signed with Rolls-Royce in 2018.

AOne Parts & Logistics Parting Out a Lear 45

AOne Parts & Logistics purchases a Learjet 45 airframe for purpose of dismantling and removing all components and material to be used for resale. The Lear 45 (45-207) is a non-incident-related airframe that went in for a scheduled maintenance event which was not completed. The decision was made that this Lear 45 would not fly again and that the engines and airframe could be repositioned and reutilized more effectively as a non-flyer.

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) applauds the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for developing a plan to allow a real-time flight-tracking opt-out for operators that have equipped their aircraft with automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) equipment, which will be required to operate in most U.S. airspace effective Jan. 1, 2020.

PPG Aerocron Aerospace Electrocoat Primer Qualified by U.S. Air Force

PPG (NYSE:PPG) announces that the U.S. Air Force has qualified PPG Aerocron™ aerospace electrocoat (e-coat) primer to provide corrosion resistance and enhanced topcoat adhesion for aircraft parts. The Air Force initially will coat test parts on a PPG e-coat system that it installed at its Advanced Technology and Training Center in Middle Georgia.

Cape Air, a leading U.S. regional airline based in Hyannis, MA, selects StandardAero to provide engine-support services for its fleet of Cessna Caravan aircraft. Under the agreement, StandardAero will provide Cape Air with Pratt & Whitney PT6A turboprop engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services from its network of overhaul facilities and service centers in North America.
