EAA AirVenture 2024 is almost upon us. From July 22-28, hundreds of thousands of aviation enthusiasts will gather in Oshkosh, WI for EAA’s annual gathering. According to EAA, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 set records, with 677,000 attendees, more than 10,000 aircraft, and 848 commercial exhibits participating in last year’s celebration!

StandardAero has appointed Kim Ernzen to serve as chief operating officer.  In this role, she reports directly to Russell Ford, StandardAero chairman and CEO and is responsible for global operational performance, efficiency and excellence, as well as engineering and supply chain management for StandardAero. In addition, StandardAero’s Engine Services and Component Repair Services division presidents will report directly to Ernzen, who will maintain close oversight of the company’s overall business performance.  She replaces Kerry O’Sullivan, who is retiring from StandardAero, and will be located at the company’s Scottsdale, AZ headquarters office.  

It is with deepest sorrow that Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics announces the passing of its former president and CEO, John W. Winter, on May 27, 2024, in Wichita, KS. Winter was a well-known and beloved member of the aviation community whose ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit helped shape the industry.

Global aviation training provider, CAE, confirms at EBACE 2024 that its new Vienna training center will be home to up to nine full-flight simulators (FFS), including the newly announced Embraer Phenom and Bombardier Challenger 3500 aircraft. This is in addition to the Bombardier Global 6000 Vision and 7500 announced last year. CAE will also be offering maintenance training in Vienna, Austria. The new center is scheduled to open in Q2 2025.
