It integrates innovative technologies to aid the crew in decision making, offering a new level of battlefield dominance through enhanced performance, increased situational awareness, superior survivability, and improved target detection, acquisition and engagement. BDA is looking for a Technical Officer - Avionics who will join the AH-64E Apache team. In this embedded role you will be accountable for Sustainment Engineering within the Avionics space and report to the CoA for day-to day taskings. This role is based at Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera. As a Technical Officer - Avionics within BDA, you will

  • Provide technical support for maintenance, repair and preventive measures that ensure continued safe and economic operations of electrical/avionics systems for customers. Acts as a conduit between engineering, maintenance and supply chain.
  • Communicate and work to articulate and resolve design and operational issues with Engineers.
  • Apply avionics technical knowledge to research, develop, test and evaluate operations, support programs, modifications, repairs and technical data.
  • Assist software, armament, and avionics engineering personnel with fault finding, troubleshooting and solution development.
  • Develop in-service correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop, maintain and release electrical/avionics drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry and governmental standards.
  • Capable of obtaining AASB Engineering Authority: Logistics Engineer.

About you To be successful in this role you will have:

  • [Essential] Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics), 3+ technical experience in avionics/electrical maintenance and/or engineering teams
  • (Desirable) prior avionics technician Defence service or Defence industry/airline experience on rotary wing/combat aircraft systems
  • Meet Defence security and ITAR requirements.
