Position OverviewThis position inspects, tests, checks, repairs, and repacks parachutes, parachute components and subassemblies; seat survival kits and their components; personal flotation devices and components; oxygen regulators, and ALSS equipment. Employ a working knowledge of aircrew survival equipment and applicable explosive devices.Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Aircraft Mechanic - Perform routine scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and troubleshooting on ER-2 (U-2/TR-2) aircraft, components and equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed.

Mechanic will perform/assist with all launch, recovery, preflight/thru flight/Basic Post Flight inspections, ground handling, maintenance, engine runs, operational checkouts, and servicing. Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of all electro-mechanical and pneudraulic systems and components on the aircraft.
