This position will be responsible for providing preventative maintenance and mechanical repair work related to the maintenance and repair of specialized fire vehicles, heavy fire apparatus, other related fire/emergency equipment, various light to heavy trucks up to class 8, and small construction equipment. This position will report to the Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession of the following certificates:  FAA Airframe Technician’s certificate and a valid Class-C California driver’s license.  One year of documented aerospace/aviation structural work experience may qualify in lieu of certificates.

Definition:  This is the journey and second working level for certificated Airframe Powerplant technicians.  Incumbents at this level work independently and inspect and repair aircraft, engines, components and systems and assess for damage, condition and method of repair, and work off site at outlying field locations, which may include assignment as a base mechanic.

The Apprentice AP Technician is the entry and first working level for certificated Airframe and Powerplant technicians.  Incumbents at this level work under the guidance of a lead technician and inspect and repair aircraft, engines, and components, and return aircraft to service.Minimum Qualifications:

AP Technician Journeyman (UH-60/S-70i) Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Support Pilot will fly support missions for the maintenance program and support the CAL-FIRE contract.Principle Duties: Pilot and safely navigate assigned aircraft.
