Every West Star Aviation Location Awarded FAA Diamond Award of Excellence

West Star Aviation announces that all four of its main, full-services locations at Chattanooga, TN (CHA); Grand Junction, CO (GJT); Perryville, MO (PCD); and East Alton, IL (ALN) have been awarded the FAA Diamond Award of Excellence for completing AMT specialized training pertaining to aviation maintenance, safety and FAA rules. This is the first year that three of the locations (ALN, GJT and CHA) have been awarded the prestigious honor, while PCD has been awarded several years in a row.

For the first time ever, the Civil Aviation Authority of the State of Israel (CAAI), which operates under the Israeli Ministry of Transport and Road Safety, certifies an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for civil aviation, approving it to fly in civilian airspace as any other civilian airplane, not restricting its flight to unsegregated airspace. For safety reasons, international aviation regulations prohibit uncertified aircraft from flying in civilian airspace, limiting the operation of UAS to unsegregated airspace — until now.

ODA Classification Streamlines STC Process for Aeronautix

The FAA grants Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) to Aeronautix. As a result, Aeronautix has authority previously reserved only for the FAA, most notably, the authority to issue STCs. This achievement was based on the company's experience in providing engineering services and procedures needed to certify STCs and PMA status for production lines. Since 2006, Aeronautix has certified over 300 STCs.
First Falcon 6X Arrives at Dassault’s Little Rock Completion Center

Dassault Aviation welcomes the first production Falcon 6X extra widebody twin to the Falcon completion center in Little Rock, AR. Falcon 6X serial number five was ferried on Friday, Jan. 28, from Dassault’s Merignac production facility, where all Falcons complete initial assembly, to the 1.25-million-square-foot Little Rock facility. The airplane landed at approximately 1:00 PM.
