ARGUS International Honors Elevate Jet as a Platinum Operator

ARGUS International, a member of the SGS Group, honors Elevate Jet as an ARGUS Platinum Operator, which places the company in the upper five percent of over 1,000 U.S.-based charter operators. The Platinum Rating is a higher level in the ARGUS audit standard and is awarded only to those air-charter operators who have demonstrated successful implementation of industry best safety practices regarding their operations and maintenance.
NBAA Welcomes Industry Veteran Laura Everington as Director, Flight Operations and Regulations

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announces that Laura Everington has joined the association as its director of flight operations and regulations. Everington brings extensive industry experience to NBAA. In her new role, she will act as the staff liaison to the Regulatory Issues Advisory Group (RIAG) and the International Operations Committee (IOC). She also will supervise NBAA’s Operations Service Group (OSG), manage special projects, and serve as one of NBAA’s technical experts leading legislative, regulatory, technical and flight operations advocacy efforts.
West Star Aviation Celebrates Inaugural WSAA Graduation, Solidifies Position as Industry Leader

West Star Aviation Academy (WSAA), established in January 2024 by West Star Aviation in partnership with Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC), celebrates the graduation of its inaugural class in the presence of employees, families, community members and industry leaders. These 23 graduates are now in the process of testing for their FAA Airframe License. West Star also welcomes 25 new apprentices into WSAA, with their graduation anticipated in spring 2025.

AEA and iFlightPlanner Collaborate to Help Pilots Locate Avionics Businesses

Private pilots and corporate operators now have the ability to easily locate AEA member companies through iFlightPlanner. This new service will help thousands of pilots find an avionics shop in the United States through iFlightPlanner’s web-based platforms, including iFlightPlanner for AOPA and mobile apps for iOS. The collaboration is expected to expand to additional countries in the future.

C&L Aerospace Signs Contract to Sell Boeing 737-800 Inventory

C&L Aerospace, a C&L Aviation Group company, announces that it has signed an agreement, conducted through Ernst & Young, to sell 737NG inventory owned by REX Airlines in Australia. The unfortunate circumstance of REX going into administration has resulted in its 737 fleet no longer flying and becoming available for sale. The inventory, containing a CFM56-7 engine, auxiliary power unit, landing gear, and other fast-moving parts, was purchased by REX to support its now grounded fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

AeroSHARK Set to Debut on Boeing 777-200ER

Together with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa Technik is introducing the fuel-saving AeroSHARK surface film to another aircraft type. From winter 2024, four Boeing 777-200ER aircraft of the Austrian carrier will be equipped with the sharkskin technology. The riblet film reduces frictional resistance during flight and thus lowers the kerosene consumption as well as CO2 emissions of long-haul aircraft.
