The Blackhawk Group (TBG) announces that the company has completed and submitted a supplemental type certificate (STC) data package to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for imminent approval of its highly anticipated XP66D Engine+ upgrade for the Daher TBM 700 series aircraft. The upgrade replaces the original 700-horsepower PT6A-64 engine with the more powerful 850-horsepower PT6A-66D, bringing TBM 700 performance on par with the TBM 850 by providing a 21% increase in available shaft horsepower (SHP).

The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum is bringing its expertise on aviation history, iconic aircraft and how to care for them to the 2025 EAA AirVenture. Visitors to the museum’s tent can take home guidance on how to care for their personal family history, learn how the museum preserves and shares the incredible history of aviation and spaceflight, and pick up fun giveaways.

Engine Assurance Program (EAP) continues to expand the list of engines covered by its hourly maintenance program. Operators of the BR710C4-11-powered Gulfstream G550 can now enroll their engines and APUs with EAP. The company also covers the BR710A1-10 and the BR710A2-20 which power the Gulfstream GV and the Bombardier Global Express, XRS, 5000 and 6000 respectively.
