Quality Control Receiving Inspector - 2nd Shift
Position SummaryThe Quality Control Receiving Inspector – Second Shift is responsible for performing inspections of incoming materials, parts, hardware, and assemblies to verify compliance with Robinson Helicopter Company’s specifications, engineering drawings, and purchase order requirements. The position ensures that only conforming materials are released for production and maintenance use in accordance with FAA Part 21, Part 145, and EASA requirements. The role supports the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance for both production and repair station operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform detailed receiving inspections of incoming materials, components, and hardware for conformity to engineering drawings, purchase orders, and applicable specifications. Verify supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance, material test reports, and traceability records, for accuracy and compliance. Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using calibrated measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators. Review and validate supplier certifications and special process documentation in accordance with FAA, EASA, and AS9100 standards. Record inspection results in the company’s ERP/Quality Management System. Identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming materials; initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) when required. Communicate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality Assurance to resolve supplier quality issues. Maintain compliance with calibration control procedures and ensure inspection tools are within current calibration prior to use. Support internal and external audits as required. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, maintaining a clean and organized work area. Perform other related quality inspection duties as assigned by supervision.Quality Assurance Inspector positions in 2nd shift operation, receive an 8 shift premium (additional to their base pay).
Required Qualifications· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school coursework preferred.· Minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace, helicopter, or precision manufacturing inspection.· Familiarity with EASA Part 145 and AS9100 quality management systems.· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.· Proficient with precision measuring tools and inspection methods.· Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection findings.· Proficiency in using computer-based systems for inspection entry.· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on the second shift.· Strong verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Qualifications· Prior experience inspecting helicopter or rotorcraft components and assemblies.· Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).· Familiarity with aerospace materials, finishes, and hardware standards (AMS, MIL, ASTM).
