West Star Aviation announces it has been awarded the FAA Diamond Award of Excellence for completing specialized training pertaining to aviation maintenance, safety, and FAA rules at its Perryville, MO (PCD) facility. This is the second year in a row that this location has been awarded the prestigious award.
West Star announces that its Perryville, MO (PCD), location has been FAA-approved as a Class 4 Repair Station. The facility is one of four full-service West Star locations. With the new approval, all four locations are now FAA-approved as Class 4, which certifies them to service larger sheet-metal airframes, as well as most major corporate airframes and models.
West Star Aviation announces the promotion of Todd Rasch to Quality/Accountable Manager at its East Alton, IL (ALN) facility. Rasch started his career as a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force. He currently has over 35 years of aviation experience, including eight years as chief inspector at West Star and previous time at Midcoast and Avmats.
West Star Aviation announces it has completed the first ever 24 year, 4th C Inspection on a Falcon 900EX.
The magnitude of this inspection involved most areas of the aircraft as well as in-depth inspection and repair of the winglets, nose and main landing gear, and engine. Additionally, interior and avionics updates were completed as well as custom exterior paint. The complete project was performed at the Alton, IL (ALN) facility, one of the four West Star full-service MRO locations.
West Star Aviation announces its partnership with Madison County Career and Technical Education Office, along with Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) for a Federal Apprenticeship Event for National Apprenticeship Week at its East Alton, IL (ALN) facility on November 14 and 15, 2019. This special event will allow students to inquire about aviation maintenance careers and explore the local opportunities available with the new AMT Apprenticeship Program, in conjunction with the 2-year Aviation Maintenance Technology program at SWIC.
