Theres the unique opportunity to lead the way in aerospace and defense and contribute to creating a safer and more sustainable world.Job Summary:•tPerform advanced testing, evaluation, and analysis on a wide range of avionics equipment using high-precision diagnostic tools (digital volt meters, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, etc.).•tDiagnose, isolate, and repair faults at the component level (capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits), ensuring consistent accuracy and reliability.•tApply digital electronics principles and power supply theory to resolve sophisticated issues in avionics systems.•tTrace and troubleshooting circuit problems using specialized techniques and equipment to identify and address failing components on electronic boards.•tExecute high-quality soldering on both surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components, maintaining superior workmanship standards.•tDocument all repair, diagnostic, and testing activities in the ERP system, ensuring traceability and strict control of used and repaired parts.•tEnsure adherence to all aviation regulations, including maintaining an active FAA Repairman Certification and compliance with all relevant standards.•tTrain, mentor, and fully onboard new technicians and team members, sharing product expertise, best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies.•tDevelop innovative repair solutions when original parts are unavailable, leveraging cannibalization and alternative sourcing strategies.•tMaintain current and in-depth knowledge of product operation and fault history to optimize diagnostics and repair processes.•tLead or actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing turnaround time and enhancing diagnostic efficiency.•tProtect confidential and sensitive information, preserving the integrity and competitive position of SEDA and Safran.•tComply consistently with Safran safety, health, and environmental (HSE) policies, supporting a safe and secure working environment.•tPerform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education / Experience:•\tHigh School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.•\tMinimum of five (5) years' proven experience in avionics electronics repair and troubleshooting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:•\tAdvanced expertise in digital and analog electronics applied to avionics systems.•\tMastery in the use of production, repair tools, and electronic test benches for troubleshooting and measurement.•\tDemonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electromechanical repairs relevant to avionics units.•\tDeep knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation industry standards, and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM).•\tExperience applying and overseeing safety rules and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.•\tStrong understanding of technical workspace organization and cleanliness standards.•\tFamiliarity with continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Lean, Kaizen).•\tBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).•\tConsistent compliance with shop procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.•\tSkill in training, mentoring, and developing technicians, including sharing of technical best practices.Leadership / Management / Personal Skills:•\tHigh autonomy and ability to work independently while providing guidance to junior staff.•\tExceptional accuracy, rigor, and attention to detail in all tasks.•\tStrong analytical, synthesis, and reporting skills.•\tProven ability to train and mentor colleagues, fostering professional growth.•\tEffective time management and prioritization skills.•\tExemplary teamwork, communication, and collaborative attitude.
