The Aircraft Mechanic I (Avionics/ Electrician) UH-60, CH-47, AH-64, LUH-72 adjusts, repairs and/or replaces electrical wiring and aircraft system avionics.  Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.

Summary:

  • Researches technical data and performs disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, assembly, testing and calibration of aircraft components and company special tools and ground equipment in accordance with applicable maintenance manual, FAA regulations and Ascent Aviation Services policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries.

  • Responsible to the Production Control Supervisor and Maintenance Manager for scheduling, tracking and administrative requirements of engines and components inducted into the “I” Level for screening and repair.
  • Must be customer oriented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Aircraft Mechanic II (UH-60, CH-47, AH-64, LUH-72) MWO Travel Team maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.

The UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2 performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.

  • Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) and determines product acceptability to the authorized limits of the NDT level obtained in accordance with prescribed methods and procedures
  • Records, organizes and evaluates test results and enter results into applicable documents
