West Star Aviation announces three personnel changes at its Grand Junction (GJT) location. Ken Rice, T.J. Jaeger and Jason Blust have all been promoted from their current positions within the West Star organization. Ken Rice, who previously held the position of Gulfstream/Learjet Program Manager, has been promoted to director of maintenance. My dad was the first person that shared the importance of continuous learning. He taught me this not only by his words, but by his actions. Dad worked in the oil industry and was always learning new things. If there was an opportunity to take a class, he would sign up for it. His ever-increasing knowledge eventually made him one of the go-to guys when it came to drilling, especially problem wells. He always stressed the importance of continuous leaning to me and my three siblings.

By Gregory J. Reigel When the FAA receives notice and evidence to show that a certificate holder (mechanic, repair station, air carrier, pilot, etc.) may have violated one or more of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), in most cases an FAA aviation safety inspector will send the alleged violator a letter of investigation (LOI) advising that the FAA is investigating an alleged violation of the FARs. Whether you should respond to an LOI and how you should respond are two of the most common questions raised by LOI recipients.
