DAS Aviation, an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, announces the acquisition of AQRD (Aerospace Quality Research and Development), an FAA Part 145 Repair Station and aerospace engineering firm headquartered in Addison, TX. The combination creates a single integrated off-wing services platform that includes engineering, component repair, composites, and parts.

On these dates, the FAA will host a series of online safety seminars targeted at aircraft maintenance technicians and other repair station personnel. Hartzell Propeller, RAF Agree to Incentives for Backcountry Pilots

Hartzell Propeller reaches an agreement with the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) to offer a special $1,000 discount on all new Hartzell backcountry propellers sold to RAF members. The RAF is a national organization headquartered in Bozeman, MT, which is dedicated to preserving, improving and creating airstrips for recreational access.

Flying Colours Corp., an international maintenance, repair and overhaul business, begins its first Ka-band installation on a super-mid-size Bombardier Challenger 604. The connectivity system upgrade forms one part of a wider 96-month heavy maintenance check being conducted in tandem with a 192-month landing-gear restoration, along with other maintenance tasks and required service bulletins. The privately owned aircraft is undergoing the work at the Flying Colours Corp. Peterborough facility in Ontario. 

StandardAero announces it has appointed Lewis Prebble as president of the company’s Airlines & Fleets division. Prebble most recently served at Rolls-Royce as senior vice president for the Americas, where he led the company’s $1 billion airline-facing jet-engine business and was responsible for delivering comprehensive end-to-end customer services over the entire engine-product lifecycle.

With four different jaw-size widths, the new WV1700 Series vises from Snap-on Industrial are a perfect addition to any work bench in the aviation, wind power, natural resources or manufacturing industries. The vises come with features that make them durable for demanding applications, including an oversized anvil that provides a larger surface designed to take a beating in forming and shaping materials.

C&L Aerospace, a C&L Aviation Group company, signs a contract with Hokkaido Air System (HAC) to purchase the regional airline’s three (3) Saab 340B aircraft. The company will be taking delivery between April 2021 and January 2022. The agreement marks the first Saab purchase for C&L since the conclusion of its ten (10) aircraft deal with Japan Air Commuter in early 2021.

Duncan Aviation announces the delivery of the 100th pair of Aviation Partners, Inc. (API) blended winglets installed on a Dassault Falcon aircraft. On March 30, Two Bear Management’s Falcon 900EX took off from Duncan Aviation's Lincoln, NE, MRO facility sporting the highly visible technology. Improved fuel efficiency and a smoother ride are only a couple of the many reasons the company chose winglets.
