Manion Aviation announces it is now an officially authorized sales representative for Meridian Jet Center to provide MRO Service Sales support. Meridian Jet Center is an FAA-approved Part 145 certified repair station. It is also certified by European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Honeywell has appointed Meridian an authorized TFE731 and -36 Series APU Service Center. The facility is also a Northeast Honeywell Avionics and Mechanical Parts Depot. Meridian Jet Center technicians are certified to work on Beechjets, Challengers, Citations, Falcons, Gulfstreams, Hawkers and Learjets.

For the first time in Europe, Lufthansa Technik installs split scimitar winglets on a Boeing Business Jet Lufthansa Technik AG is the first MRO provider in Europe to install split scimitar winglets on a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ). With this modification, the aircraft is the third BBJ in the world to be equipped with these new aerodynamically optimized winglets from Aviation Partners Boeing.

Hartzell Propeller Inc. has named Shenyang Avias Aviation Maintenance Engineering Co. Ltd. as the company's first Service and Support Center in the Peoples Republic of China. Shenyang Avias is located near Shenyang Taoxian Airport in Shenyang, the provincial capital and largest city of Liaoning Province in Northeast China. Shenyang Avias was established in 1998 and has a professional maintenance staff of 40 people who perform maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft engines and components.

Engineered Propulsion Systems (EPS) mounted the first in a series of pre-production diesel engines on a test stand, and turned the key on September 20th. “The engine started smoothly and ran great,” says Michael Fuchs, President and CEO of EPS. “We will begin the testing procedures tomorrow. Achieving this major milestone is an accomplishment that will set new standards. It opens up huge opportunities.”

Duncan Aviation is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the opening of its first engine Rapid Response Team location. In 2000, Duncan Aviation saw a need to support business aviation customers with dedicated, ready-to-travel turbine engine technicians. A small office dubbed “Engine Rapid Response” was opened in the Dallas area, becoming Duncan Aviation’s first mobile engine services launch office.

The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) announces that both the FAA Central and Northwest Mountain Regions have signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) that allows charter operators, corporate flight departments and fractional program managers to participate in the Air Charter Safety Foundation’s Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). The ACSF-managed ASAP program is now approved in the contiguous United States including the FAA Eastern, Great Lakes, Central, Southern, Southwest, Western-Pacific and Northwest Mountain Regions.
