Alpharetta, Ga. - Flight Display Systems introduces Fly HD, a complete high-definition system that provides full 1,080p video quality. Flight Display Systems engineered the components to use HD-SDI signals on the common coaxial cable that is already installed on many aircraft. This reduces the number of converters required and limits the amount of rewiring necessary The Fly HD components fall into three categories: high-definition widescreen monitors, HD-SDI backbone switches and converters, and high-definition source equipment.

Melbourne, Australia - CAE recently inaugurated pilot and maintenance technician training programs in Melbourne for the Hawker Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft with ProLine 21 avionics. Minister for Technology and Minister for Aviation of the Victorian State Government Gordon Rich-Phillips, aircraft operators, industry representatives and CAE employees attended the inauguration.

Newport News, Va. - International Communications Group (ICG) announces today that its receipt of two STCs from the FAA for its ePhone cordless cabin telephone system. Working with Chicago Jet Group, ICG completed the first STC on a Falcon 900 aircraft and also collaborated with L2 Consulting Services Inc. to complete the requirements for a second STC for the installation of the digital enhanced cordless telephone (DECTtm) device on a Boeing 737-800 operated by a major U.S.-based airline.

Dallas - The FAA has named Baker Aviation’s maintenance facility at Addison Airport (KADS) a certified repair station. Baker Aviation is currently the only certified repair station at KADS. “We are excited about the certification and what it means for our customers,” says Marty Dryer, director of operations at Baker Aviation. “This was the next big step in our expansion with our plans to offer full-service maintenance operations to our current customers, as well as any aircraft owners or operators who choose Baker Aviation for their aircraft needs.”

London -MRO provider British Airways Engineering announces its investment to inaugurate three new, state-of-the-art, bespoke training rooms at its Heathrow maintenance base. The EASA-approved classrooms each have a capacity of 12 to 16 students and will be used to deliver theoretical and practical training elements dedicated to B787, A380 and the Airbus A318/9/20/21 variants.

Orlando, Fla. - Cessna Aircraft plans customer festivities for Sept. 17, 2012, to mark the grand opening of its new company-owned Citation Service Center at Valencia Airport in Manises, Spain. The Valencia Citation Service Center will have approximately 62,400 square feet of hangar space and 38,000 square feet of office and administration space. The center will provide full line and base maintenance, warranty work, paint, small modifications and mobile support teams.

London - Integrated aviation services provider A J Walter Aviation (AJW) has signed an asset purchase agreement to buy the component repair business of Aveos Fleet Performance. AJW plans to develop a world-class MRO operation and will establish the Montréal facility as its new global headquarters for the aircraft components MRO. AJW worked with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) to formulate a new business structure.

East Hartford, Conn. - Pratt & Whitney announced orders for the PurePower PW1000G engine family at the Farnborough Air Show. The PurePower engine family powers four different aircraft platforms. CIT, JetBlue and IndiGo finalized agreements for PW1100G-JM engines, as Cebu Pacific Air and Norwegian Air Shuttle placed new orders, lifting the tally to more than 1,100 firm PW1100G-JM engine orders.
