Doherty joins TRAXXALL with an extensive 15+ year aviation maintenance background, including computerized aviation maintenance and compliance tracking software, and technical publications experience. The Aircraft Electronics Association's Educational Foundation announces the names of 24 individuals who were awarded individual scholarships worth more than $125,000 for the 2015-16 academic year. This year, the AEA was honored to administer the inaugural Marshall Temple Memorial Scholarship for the first time. Temple founded Temple Electronics, and his company has been an AEA member since 1974. He passed away Nov. 16, 2014, at the age of 85. AEA scholarships and the individual recipients for the 2015-16 academic year include:

AJW Aviation announces it has signed an agreement for an additional two A320 aircraft under the auspices of its ten year PBH contract with Lithuanian airline Avion Express. “The power-by-the-hour support that AJW provides for this part of our European operation now covers all fourteen A320 aircraft; offering full ATA coverage and on-site stock” says Aleksei Lupitski, President and CEO - Avion Express.

The FAA is working with the commercial aviation and medical communities to study the emotional and mental health of U.S. commercial pilots. The joint FAA and industry group known as the Commercial Aviation Safety Team (CAST) recommended the study based on the recent Malaysia Flight 370 and Germanwings Flight 9525 accidents.

Lack of communication is one of the big four of the Dirty Dozen. The other three will be along in time if you decide to keep reading these articles. It’s hard to tell if anyone is reading them. There’s a lack of communication from the readership — as in from you (the reader) to me, the writer who hopes that someone out there finds these articles useful.

As you know, 14 C.F.R. §91.409(a) requires that an aircraft must undergo an annual inspection every 12 calendar months or sooner in order for that aircraft to be airworthy. Once that inspection is complete, what is the holder of an inspection authorization (IA) required to do to document the annual inspection? What maintenance record entry is required and where must that entry be made?

It can be easy to get caught up in the moment. We all go about jobs every day and do the things necessary to keep our business running. Hamburg-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider Lufthansa Technik AG and U.S. low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines have signed a comprehensive long-term component supply agreement for the airline’s current and future fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft. The contract will run through November, 2024. The Total Component Support (TCS®) agreement covers component overhaul and engineering services as well as pooling and Home Base Lease. The component supply will be realized via the Lufthansa Technik facilities in Miami / Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles.
