Lack of communication is one of the big four of the Dirty Dozen. The other three will be along in time if you decide to keep reading these articles. It’s hard to tell if anyone is reading them. There’s a lack of communication from the readership — as in from you (the reader) to me, the writer who hopes that someone out there finds these articles useful.

As you know, 14 C.F.R. §91.409(a) requires that an aircraft must undergo an annual inspection every 12 calendar months or sooner in order for that aircraft to be airworthy. Once that inspection is complete, what is the holder of an inspection authorization (IA) required to do to document the annual inspection? What maintenance record entry is required and where must that entry be made?

It can be easy to get caught up in the moment. We all go about jobs every day and do the things necessary to keep our business running. Sometimes, it’s just a series of steps that are required to get through the day, and if our business continues to grow, we can find ourselves easily overwhelmed – working long hours and often putting out a series of fires.

Hamburg-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider Lufthansa Technik AG and U.S. low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines have signed a comprehensive long-term component supply agreement for the airline’s current and future fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft. The contract will run through November, 2024. The Total Component Support (TCS®) agreement covers component overhaul and engineering services as well as pooling and Home Base Lease. The component supply will be realized via the Lufthansa Technik facilities in Miami / Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles.

The Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) will participate in the Arsenal of Democracy, a large-scale flyover of our nation’s Capitol to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day on May 8, 2015.
