East Alton, IL –West Star Aviation’s East Alton (ALN)  location has been appointed an Authorized Service Center for Embraer Phenom 100 and 300 aircraft models. West Star Aviation’s St. Louis location (SUS) is also included under the appointment of ALN as a service center.

WASHINGTON – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today issued a new rule to enhance aviation safety by requiring scheduled airlines to install ice detection equipment in their existing fleets or to update their flight manuals to make sure crews know when they should activate their ice protection systems.  The new rule targets scheduled airlines with aircraft weighing 60,000 lbs or less.

Austin, TX – Castleberry Instruments and Avionics announced that its repair station has earned FAA full Class 1, 2, 3 Radio, Class 1, 2, 3, 4, Instrument and Limited Airframe ratings. LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York – FlightSafety International is pleased to announce that Sikorsky Helitech, a Sikorsky Aerospace Services company based in Brisbane, Australia, has become a FlightSafety approved Maintenance Training Center. Sikorsky Helitech will offer training for Pratt & Whitney Canada engines in Australasia. “We are pleased that Sikorsky Helitech has become an approved provider of FlightSafety’s comprehensive, high quality maintenance training courses,” said Mike Lee, Director, Business Development Maintenance Training.

ACES announces the acquisition and merger of Technology for Energy Corporation / ACES Systems, Knoxville TN and Dynamic Instruments, San Diego, CA.  Effective February 24, 2011, the operations of the Dynamic Instruments Military Vibrations Product Line transferred to Technology for Energy Corporation (TEC). TEC, under its ACES Systems Division, designs and manufactures aviation maintenance test equipment that is sold primarily into the commercial aviation markets.

The MPS 35C is a fully RVSM compliant test set capable of controlling three pressures separately and independently - static, pitot, and angle of attack. The instrument is designed for flightline use with aircraft that incorporate pneumatic AOA measurement. The angle of attack pressure can be displayed either in pressure units or directly in degrees of AOA with 0.1 deg. resolution.

PolyWipes by RPM Technology contain no solvents or abrasives. PolyWipes have a NFPA health rating of zero and are not flammable. They remove uncured or partly-cured adhesives and sealants safely by breaking the surface tension between the material and the substrate.
