Albuquerque, NM - Aspen Avionics announces STC approval of Connected Pilot, the first in the series of the company’s Connected Panel product line that provides a wireless link between certified instrument panel avionics and portable smart devices. Connected Pilot is available to operators and owners of more than 900 aircraft makes and models of aircraft.

Fort Worth, Texas - Baker Aviation recently completed the Aviation Research Group/U.S. (ARG/U.S.) two-day audit for its Part 135 Air Carrier Operation. The successful completion of the audit resulted in Baker Aviation being awarded the platinum safety rating from ARG/U.S., which is the highest rating a 135 Charter Operator can receive. Out of the nearly 2,500 nationwide Part 135 operators, only four percent have achieved a platinum rating.

Wichita, Kan. - Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. company, announces the renaming its newest single engine product. The jet-fuel burning turbo aircraft announced at the EAA/AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., as the Turbo Skylane NXT will now be called the Turbo Skylane JT-ATM.

Tempe, Ariz. - StandardAero has delivered its 6,000th auxiliary power unit (APU) since the program’s inception in 1995. The milestone took place at StandardAero’s Maryville, Tenn., facility and was a Hamilton Sundstrand APS2300, delivered to a commercial customer.

Vilnius, Lithuania - FL Technics Training, a global provider of aircraft technical maintenance training services, is further strengthening its position in the Russian market. Earlier this year it signed an agreement with the Moscow-based MRO services provider Avia Group Techniks LLC. According to the agreement, FL Technics Training instructors will conduct a wide range of technical training courses for the company’s specialists in Russia and Lithuania.

Alexandria, Va. - The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) announces that Executive Jet Management (EJM) of Cincinnati has renewed its status on the ACSF Industry Audit Standard (IAS) Registry. EJM recently completed an IAS audit and maintains "registered" status with the ACSF. "By renewing its status on the IAS Registry, EJM has demonstrated its commitment to high standards," says ACSF President Bryan Burns. "We congratulate them on their continued dedication, commitment and support of our standard."

Washington, D.C. - The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) issued a statement regarding the announcement that former Airlines for America (A4A) senior vice president Thomas L. Hendricks has been selected as the new president for the National Air Transportation Association (NATA). “We welcome Tom to NATA and the general aviation community,” says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “NBAA has long enjoyed a tremendous relationship with NATA, and we look forward to continuing that under Tom’s leadership.”

Newport News, Va. - International Communications Group (ICG) announces today that its receipt of two STCs from the FAA for its ePhone cordless cabin telephone system. Working with Chicago Jet Group, ICG completed the first STC on a Falcon 900 aircraft and also collaborated with L2 Consulting Services Inc. to complete the requirements for a second STC for the installation of the digital enhanced cordless telephone (DECTtm) device on a Boeing 737-800 operated by a major U.S.-based airline.

Dallas - The FAA has named Baker Aviation’s maintenance facility at Addison Airport (KADS) a certified repair station. Baker Aviation is currently the only certified repair station at KADS. “We are excited about the certification and what it means for our customers,” says Marty Dryer, director of operations at Baker Aviation. “This was the next big step in our expansion with our plans to offer full-service maintenance operations to our current customers, as well as any aircraft owners or operators who choose Baker Aviation for their aircraft needs.”
