Aviation Fabricators (AvFab) announces it has received STC approval on its Cessna 208 Stretcher for the Cessna 208, 208A, 208B series aircraft in India. The stretcher provides an operator with the option of transporting an ill or injured patient, and is ideal as an economical alternative to complete medevac systems, for an operator who doesn’t need critical care medical equipment.

The aerospace supply industry is still in the early days of a long-term boom in orders, say industry participants at a recent suppliers summit hosted by GE Capital at GE Aviation’s headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. The large majority of participants, who were split about evenly in serving wide-body and narrow-body commercial aircraft platforms said they plan to increase their workforce over the next 12 months (84%), expect to win new long-term supply agreements in the next three years (91%), and expect aircraft deliveries to continue to grow at least through 2016 (76%).

We humans have been making errors for a very, very long time and sadly will continue to do so. In the past, when an error was made we (often including the person who made the error) would say they were either careless, stupid or just too lazy to do it right. Obviously they just didn’t use their common sense. All of the reasons we have listed are not causes of a human error.

Total sales exceed $614 million for three-month period; sales rise to more than $1.9 billion in first nine months of 2014. The Aircraft Electronics Association has released its third-quarter 2014 Avionics Market Report. In the three-month period of July, August and September 2014, total worldwide business and general aviation avionics sales amounted to $614,406,537.56, or more than $614 million.

As most of you probably know, a type-certificated aircraft must have an identification or “data” plate issued by the aircraft’s manufacturer secured to the aircraft in order to be airworthy. Ordinarily, that requirement isn’t an issue for an aircraft owner. But what happens when an aircraft is missing its data plate? Perhaps the aircraft was wrecked, or the owner purchased the aircraft as salvage. This can leave an aircraft owner in a tough spot. The aircraft might be in a condition safe for flight, but it isn’t flying anywhere without a data plate.

For those of you unfamiliar with this concept, the best definition which describes it is from Wikipedia: “Crowdfunding is the process of funding your projects by a multitude of people contributing a small amount in order to attain a certain monetary goal. I love the aviation industry because of the people who are in it. Generally, I find that people in the aviation industry are personable, honest, intelligent and simply nice to be around. That is the main reason I have been in the industry for more than 37 years. I also have a personal passion to improve the aviation technician’s image and perception.
